Christie Ashenoff on South Beach Tow.
On the SOUTH BEACH TOW season finale, Senior did the best thing for Tremont Towing and selected the obvious choice to head the company: Christie Ashenoff.

When Christie Ashenoff, star of truTVs South Beach Tow and newly promoted boss-lady of Tremont Towing, was approached about doing an interview with Mechele R. Dillard for TVRuckus readers, she was more than just willing, she was elated:  “I’m all about the interview!” she agreed, adding, “Anything I can do to interact with the fans I’m a fan of!”

TVRuckus:  Christie, first off, congratulations on your promotion! Many fans, including myself, called it before the choice was made:  If Robert Sr. did not pick you, he was making a mistake. How did it feel to have support behind you when you were not even technically in the running?

“Thank you! It was a long time coming! I’ve always said it’s not easy being a woman in what’s considered a man’s business, but if you don’t put yourself out there there’s no one to blame but yourself when you don’t move forward. A piece of me knew I could do this job while another piece of me had/has doubts. I’ve been around long enough where my doubts seem silly. Having everyone in my corner even when I wasn’t in my own corner made a big difference. We can’t all be wrong! Lol…”

TVRuckus:  You asked to be considered for the position after it became clear to you that neither Robbie nor Perez was the right choice to keep Tremont Towing moving forward. After your dad made his decision, did you feel immediately that you had made the right choice for yourself, or were you afraid that you may have just put too big of a burden on your life?

“It was a moment of sheer panic followed by a moment of ‘Haha, suckers!’ followed by an ‘I got this’ kind of confidence.”

TVRuckus:  Being in charge can be difficult, but it is especially hard when you are working with family! Has Robbie respected and accepted your dad’s choice, or is there going to be a, ahem, learning curve there for awhile? And, hey, when are we going to see the truTV website move you from “Dispatcher” to “The Boss?!”

“I hope you’re sitting down for this one, spoiler alert: ROBBIE’S STUBBORN AND HARD HEADED! So, I’ll let you guess how that went and goes…..”

“As far as my title change goes, that you’ll have to talk to truTV about.”

TVRuckus:  As a “rookie Mom” as you’ve called yourself on your blog, “A Day in the Life…,” you’ve got a lot to juggle and a lot to learn. And, now, a new job to boot! How in the world are you going to do it all? Are you getting advice from other moms out there? Do you have any advice to offer other working moms?

“It truly is a juggling act. Some days are easier than others and I’m still trying to figure it all out. I’m lucky enough to have an amazing support system and being a rookie mom I’m not too proud to ask and take all the advice I can! As the saying goes, ‘It takes a village.’ I read every book I could get my hands on, went to all the classes, I was as prepared as anyone could be ON PAPER. When he was born I went with my instincts and advice. Those have yet to fail me! My one piece of advice would be to trust your instincts. You’re a lot more prepared than you think you are–you’ve been preparing for this your whole life. And, don’t be too proud to ask for help if you need it. There will always be a hand there if you look for it.”

TVRuckus:  Bernice:  No discussion involving South Beach Tow is complete without at least one mention of Bernice! In the past, there have been some rough moments with Bernice, but she has proven herself to be, really, the most loyal Tremont Towing employee of all. How important will her support at Tremont be as you transition into your new position?

“Bernice. I love Bernice! She’s amazing! She’s there when I need her no ifs, ands, or buts about it! You always know what you’re going to get with her. The Bernice you met yesterday is the same one you’ll get 2 years from now. That’s a rare quality; we’re lucky to have her. She’s family!”

TVRuckus:  Anything you would just like to say to your fans? Take it away!

“I want to thank everyone for watching! It’s been quite the adventure and I’ve enjoyed sharing it with all of you! I’m always asked if it’s really me and the answer is YES! I run my own Facebook Fan page, Instagram, GETGLUE, and Twitter. I try to read and answer everyone. I’m not going to lie, it gets overwhelming, but I want to do it all myself to stay as connected as I can with all of you! You guys mean more than you know to me!”

Thank you again, Christie Ashenoff, for this great interview for all of your fans and readers of TVRuckus—and good luck as the boss of Tremont Towing on South Beach Tow!
